Last week John and Patsy attended the Mayor of Thatcham's civic reception and were presented with a cheque for £1,617.50! Ellen Crumly, (Mayor of Thatcham) has raised this over her past year via raffles, donations and at events - this amount will also be match funded by The Good Exchange! A massive thank you to the Mayor for choosing our charity for one of her charities of the year and also to everyone who donated.
We set up a café in a blacksmiths shop ready for the private Steam enthusiast event last weekend. The weather was very kind to us and we had lots of very nice customers. Thank you to all of our very kind cake and soup makers for your very kind donations.
We asked for donations of cakes for a private event last weekend to help us fundraise for our charity. This amazing cake which has our charity logo on was made by Julie Moore and donated by Paul Greenan.
This was one of many donations of cakes made for the event and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took time to bake for us and help us raise money and awareness for our charity.
We were at Cheryl and Fred's private steam event on Monday, where we served refreshments and homemade cakes to around 60 people. It was a lovely evening with some lovely generous people.
We would like to thank everyone who baked and donated cakes for us to serve at the event, in return we received donations for our charity of £153.
We were at the Holybrook Fete on Sunday...it was a lovely day and on our soft toy tom-bola we managed to make a great £186. Thanks to everyone who came to see us there and to everyone who donated and took part in our tom-bola.
We were at Thatcham fun day this weekend, where were received a cheque from Karmal - the chair of the Rotary club - for an amazing £1,000...this will go towards getting our second house up and running even sooner and helping us to support more homeless young people and care leavers in West Berkshire. The Mayor of Thatcham, Ellen Crumbly was also there and we are one of her charities of the year for 2017.
We were at Hampstead Marshall summer Market on the 10th, we had our advertising boards with us and we also did a tombola...it was a lovely day for raising awareness of our charity.

We were at Crafty Craft on Monday 1st and we managed to raise £168 from our tom-bola stall... A massive thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and to everyone who supported us as well.
We raised an amazing £1,062.63 this weekend at Waitrose. All the money we raised will go towards housing the 22 year old homeless young man who we are fundraising for.
In the pictures above are just some of the lovely people who donated. Mr Isaacson with a cheque for £50 and Mr and Mrs Taylor who gave a cheque for £500.
We want to say massive thank you to everyone who came and donated at the weekend. The young man who we are raising the money to support, was in tears when he heard how people cared enough to give money. He didn't think anyone would give anything.
