We had a busy weekend of fundraising at both the Holybrook Festival and Thatcham Fun Day on Sunday. We had our publicity boards and tombola stall with us, along with just some of the lovely soft toys that were donated to us by Ardita and the staff from the Mio Fiore restaurant in Newbury. A massive thankyou to everyone who came to see us and donated on the day, and of course to everyone from the Mio Fiore who donated the 89 soft toys!

We had the opening of Rebecca House on Friday, It was a lovely evening - luckily the weather held out for us - and it was great to be able to celebrate the opening of our second charity house.
The aim of our second house is to provide more accommodation for care leavers and homeless young people. With a live-in house supervisor, residents can live independently but know that there is always someone there if and when required. As always our main aim is to get our residents into work, education/training or volunteering and have them move on to independent living when they ready. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend on the evening - it was great to see some of the amazing people who support the charity in many different ways - plus to everyone else who have helped and support us in any way on our journey up to this point and beyond. We also want to say a special thank you to John Campbell from The Woodspeen for doing a delicious buffet, Peter McClintock for the photo's and to everyone else who helped out on the night. |
