John and Patsy received a cheque for £400 from Marysia at Newbury Waitrose yesterday, this is great and will go towards helping us to support the young people in Cornerstone and also to help to get Rebecca house finished sooner so we can help more homeless young people. - Thank you Waitrose!
We were at the Holybrook Fete on Sunday...it was a lovely day and on our soft toy tom-bola we managed to make a great £186. Thanks to everyone who came to see us there and to everyone who donated and took part in our tom-bola.
We were at Thatcham fun day this weekend, where were received a cheque from Karmal - the chair of the Rotary club - for an amazing £1,000...this will go towards getting our second house up and running even sooner and helping us to support more homeless young people and care leavers in West Berkshire. The Mayor of Thatcham, Ellen Crumbly was also there and we are one of her charities of the year for 2017.
Waitrose have once again been a great help to our charity... John and Patsy received a cheque from Claire Young at Waitrose in Wokingham for £440 on Friday. This is great and will go towards supporting the young people and helping us finish our second house which is nearly ready.
We are receiving goods for our second house. This is Claire from KPMG with lots of kitchen things including a hoover.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated goods/furniture, it means we can open our second house sooner and help more homeless young people in West Berkshire.
It was one of our residents 19th birthday on Friday and we were delighted to be able to give him an amazing cake.
Patsy collected the lovely cake from Jo, from 'Free Cakes for Kids Reading' who are a community organisation that connects families who find it difficult to provide a birthday cake for their child with local bakers who enjoy making and decorating cakes.
We want to say a massive thank you to Jo and the volunteer who baked the cake, our young resident was very pleased with it, especially as it represented landscape gardening which he wants to eventually do for a job.
We were at Hampstead Marshall summer Market on the 10th, we had our advertising boards with us and we also did a tombola...it was a lovely day for raising awareness of our charity.
