We are busy getting our second house ready, so we can help more homeless young people.
We have a working party of around 28 people coming and going throughout today, working on various jobs in our second house. The company who are very kindly helping us are Amdocs and we have also been chosen as their charity for this year. We really appreciate this support and with their help we can have our second house up and running very soon.

We are looking for someone who would be happy to spend time mentoring a young 18 year old lady. It would be ideal for someone with some spare time a couple of days a week and who can be flexible. You would need to have good listening skills and be able to help her find some paid or volunteer work, until we can find the right job to suit her needs.
Please get in touch by either phone or email if you think you would be able to help. We are busy getting the allotment ready for spring and summer to grow new things. The young people like to help out and spend time at the allotment as they find it therapeutic. They say that they can forget life and just focus on what they are doing, they also like being able to see the outcome when they are finished.
With the money raised so far we've managed to get this young man off the streets.
He moved into Cornerstone on Monday night, and slept in a warm comfy bed for the first time in 10 months. He is extremely grateful to each and everyone who helped in any way at all to enable this to happen. Especially to all of those who gave so generously to help raise his rent and deposit. He is now looking forward with great excitement and enthusiasm to starting his new life and is looking forward with much more hope for a brighter and happier future. We raised an amazing £1,062.63 this weekend at Waitrose. All the money we raised will go towards housing the 22 year old homeless young man who we are fundraising for.
In the pictures above are just some of the lovely people who donated. Mr Isaacson with a cheque for £50 and Mr and Mrs Taylor who gave a cheque for £500. We want to say massive thank you to everyone who came and donated at the weekend. The young man who we are raising the money to support, was in tears when he heard how people cared enough to give money. He didn't think anyone would give anything. We are going to be at Waitrose in Newbury on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. John and Patsy will be there with our collection buckets and leaflets on the charity, which show what we offer to the young people we support.
All money we collect will go directly to supporting and housing a 22 year old young man who we are fundraising for. He is currently homeless and living rough in a tent, and has been for over 10 months now. Come see us to have a chat, donate or just see how we are getting on. |
