We attended an event last Saturday in Hungerford to show our appreciation for a donation of £500 which we recently received from Hungerford Town Council, which was also doubled through The Good Exchange. Patsy had the opportunity to do a small presentation about the charity and the work we do with care leavers and homeless young people, before the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Hungerford handed out the certificates.
We had a busy weekend of fundraising at both the Holybrook Festival and Thatcham Fun Day on Sunday. We had our publicity boards and tombola stall with us, along with just some of the lovely soft toys that were donated to us by Ardita and the staff from the Mio Fiore restaurant in Newbury. A massive thankyou to everyone who came to see us and donated on the day, and of course to everyone from the Mio Fiore who donated the 89 soft toys!
A big thank you to Transmission Technology ltd. for their recent donation of an amazing £5000! We are so lucky to have received this donation and support from the company - this donation will go towards supporting our residents in both of our charity houses and help us to offer the best support possible to help them move on to independent living.
Thank you to Malcom from "Sport in mind" and Thatcham Table Tennis Club, for very kindly giving our young residents free entry and instruction each week ... They love it !
Last week John and Patsy attended the Mayor of Thatcham's civic reception and were presented with a cheque for £1,617.50! Ellen Crumly, (Mayor of Thatcham) has raised this over her past year via raffles, donations and at events - this amount will also be match funded by The Good Exchange! A massive thank you to the Mayor for choosing our charity for one of her charities of the year and also to everyone who donated.
Our young people were very excited and pleased to receive their gifts Christmas morning, and enjoyed their Christmas dinner too.
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts and food for our young residents this year, and for all your support through out the year.
We received this lovely hamper full of Christmas food and treats for our young people from Rob Lewis from BNI Bourne Newbury - Thank you so much!
John and Patsy collected these bags full of presents from Lynne, Vicky and Claire, from KPMG last Thursday. There is a bag for each of our young residents! Thank you to everyone at KPMG.
